Railcon projectile and barrel types

Posted by SirSkylar - 1 day ago

: Introduction :

Again to hopefully clear up any confusion. This article will make a lot more sense in the future.

As if for now, enjoy reading! Even if it doesn't make sense at the moment!

It is a bit difficult to tell a story that's never been made before... but i guess that's how stories start right?

( Railcon Bullet types )

R round -

R rounds are shaped like a vertical rectangular flat wedge, and are most common in firearms and hand held weapons such as rifles and pistols.

S round -

S rounds are shaped like a horizontal flat rectangular wedge. These kinds of rounds are used most in automatic weapons like machine guns, and are equipped to vehicles like spacecraft and aircraft.

D round -

D rounds are usually long and made to carry heavy amounts of kinetic energy in order to penetrate through heavy armor and support structures.

These rounds are shaped more like a cube than a rectangle.

B round -

B rounds are shaped more like a sphere and are fired out of a specialized barrel that usually has Silver railium in it.

These rounds are less penetrative but ricochet multiple times.

Seen used mostly in [REDACTED]

P round -

P rounds are less common but have been seen in some aircraft.

They are believed to be more cylinder shaped and appear to build up speed over distance..

Usually explosive.

*Note: None of the projectiles mentioned above have spin except B rounds and potentially P rounds.*

Next in line we have:

[ Barrel types ]

Friction barrels:

Friction barrels leave no space for pressure to escape, so the projectile rubs against the barrel walls making it shed off a layer of metal when fired.

These barrels are well known for the large amount of sparks that leave the barrel when fired. Those sparks are the result of that layer of metal shedding off the projectile.

Non Friction barrels:

Unlike friction barrels, non friction barrels leave room for pressure to escape to allow the projectile to sort of glide on the gas being released. This is good for rapid fire to prevent over heating.

these types of barrels are well known for their big muzzle flash when fired.

Conclusion and Final notes.

I'm sure there are more barrel types than just two, but I don't exactly know what they are because the Heavenly Father has not revealed them to me yet. I tried to keep the descriptions as simple as possible as to not over complicate things.

And for anyone wondering what silver railium is, its a rare variant of railium that is a shiny silvery color. and is extremely durable and valuable. But that's probable something for another post, like a post about the metals and such.

Post End.
